Our Story

Founded in 2017, Propel DL is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to advance, promote and enhance the growth of Detroit Lakes and the surrounding region through educational, charitable and recreational programs, including but not limited to festivals and events, to promote and encourage prosperity in Detroit Lakes. We want residents and visitors to experience the year-round fun of the Detroit Lakes area. 

We work to bring events like Polar Fest to the community. Polar Fest is held annually in mid-February. The Propel DL Board is responsible for the overall branding, advertising, and administration of Polar Fest. We are interested in bringing even more events to the Detroit Lakes area where Propel DL can serve as the 'umbrella' and look for people (like you reading this) to join a committee, sponsor an event or volunteer.
